Did you know that Linda Bricca's father had a company that did business with Great Western?

Also did they ever conduct an investigation into the "suicide" of Richard or did they just write that off too.

In her book, Bill's wife wrote that a coroner's inquiry ruled Richard's cause of death undetermined. That is probably true. But obviously it was made to look like a suicide though supposedly William's "friend" who did it made it look like Richard shot himself with his left hand (though he was right handed, or vice versa.) After William was dead, stories in Chicago papers said police had reactivated the investigation into Richard's death. Of course, that went nowhere. I don't believe her story that Bill confessed to masterminding Richard's murder, though it's clear he did. Why is explained in the new book, along with a lot of other things she wrote that clearly aren't true.

Do you know if the Thoresen family went to the Percy Funeral?

Valerie's wake was in Wilmette. Over 1000 reportedly attended. Was it open to the public? The funeral was close to the Thoresen's house. But I've found no connections, social or otherwise, between the families. Your question made me get out William's wife's book. She wrote that, after BIll's brother Richard's murder almost a year to the day before Valerie's murder, Bill and his parents agreed not to have anything to do with each other from then on. But, because we know she also wrote that his father was financially supporting Bill and her a few years later, after Bill blew through his and his brother's money, and because her book contains lies and whitewashes other things between Bill and his parents, we have reason not to believe there was a separation between parents and son. Of course, we have numerous reasons to believe that Bill was at Percy's the morning of Val's murder. And reasons to believe he would have been in the area that weekend because it's a good bet that his family would have gotten together the weekend before the one year anniversary of his brother's death, the same weekend Val was murdered. And Bill would have been obligated to be there in order to carry on the charade that he didn't have anything to do with his brother's death. Because of the lies in her book, and reasons to believe it is propaganda, we have reason to believe that she told a lie in writing that his parents and Bill parted ways after Richard's murder. The reason for her writing this in her book would be to document a reason to believe that William would not have been in Kenilworth at the time of Val's murder, and the first anniversary of Richard's murder.

Hi Glenn,

Just found your post today when doing a search for a friend of mine from Wilmette. Can’t wait to read your new book! Govt. agencies haven’t changed at all after all these years, have they?

Susan from Kenilworth

Thanks, Susan. It's basically volume III that started with Sympathy Vote, all the same story.

No. Interesting. If I recall correctly, she was from the Chicago area, and there's a report that someone left cigarette butts on her headstone in a circular pattern, which is not unlike the etching left in the glass at Percy's and the symbol Zodiac signed his letters with. Bill T. did smoke.

Ok Glenn you sent me down a rabbit hole. My grandfather was an executive at the stockyards for a food and sporting goods company. For those in the industry they had a private club. Strictly higher ups. They generally had graduation and wedding related parties there as well as industry parties and the cliched four martini lunch I checked and the steel industry had the same thing. I believe Linda Bricca's father and Thoresens father knew each other. It is certainly possible that he met her. I would love to read his psych evals. Because I don't think he took rejection well and held a grudge.

That private club might have been the location where the press conference was held when the Beatles played Comiskey Park? I am pretty sure he was responsible for murders I have not written about. But I think it’s a good bet I have documented some of his earliest ones, and it seems he didn’t need to have a reason to murder any particular victim.

Apparently they worked on government contracts during the war and after. The companies were just off Western a few miles from each other. Not a stretch that they would know each other.

Given the evidence in the Andersen and Peterson-Schuessler cases, I think Bill brought the bodies of some of his early Chicago victims to GW Steel, where he worked for a time, if not murdered them there.

Did the Thoreson boys go to New Trier East?

I believe Richard graduated NT years before it was in its east and west phases. I seem to recall having a source who said Bill was expelled from North Shore Country Day School but no one there would confirm it. Can't blame them.

The cover-up of the cover-up is very intriguing.
